Supermodel Gisele Bündchen has reportedly caused concern within her family following her recent marriage to jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, according to sources close to the situation.
Bündchen quietly tied the knot with Valente in a private ceremony in the United States in November, just months after the couple welcomed a baby boy together. While the relationship appears strong, members of the model’s family are said to be uneasy about her choice of partner—primarily due to financial reasons.
Sources claim the Bündchen family questioned the decision to marry someone who is not exceptionally wealthy, given Gisele’s estimated net worth of around $400 million.
“Her family advised her against marrying a man without significant wealth when she herself is worth hundreds of millions,” a source revealed.
Although Valente owns his own martial arts academy in Miami and works with high-profile clients, insiders note that he operates in a completely different financial and fame “weight class” compared to Bündchen, one of the most successful models of all time.
Reports suggest the couple signed a prenuptial agreement, but it allegedly includes clauses that would allow Valente to receive financial compensation in the event of a divorce—something that did not fully reassure Gisele’s family.
Bündchen was previously married to NFL legend Tom Brady, with whom she shares two children: Benjamin (16) and Vivian (13). Throughout her career, she has been the face of major global brands including Victoria’s Secret, Chanel, Apple, and Under Armour, while also investing in fashion and lifestyle businesses.
Despite the reported concerns, Gisele remains very close to her family, especially her father Vladir and her five sisters. She has often spoken publicly about the strong bond she shares with them. Her mother, Vânia, passed away in January 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
For now, Bündchen appears focused on her new chapter, prioritizing family and personal happiness—despite the unease surrounding her marriage choice.
