Miss Universe shock: Canada’s contestant reveals she was four months pregnant during the competition

Miss Universe Canada Jaime VandenBerg has revealed a surprising detail about her participation in the Miss Universe 2025 pageant. She was four months pregnant while competing on stage.

The beauty queen shared the news months after the competition, which took place in Thailand in November. In a video posted on Instagram on March 2, the 29 year old announced that she had been 16 weeks pregnant when she walked the Miss Universe stage.

The video shows two moments filmed about three months apart. In the first clip, VandenBerg is seen confidently walking the stage in a swimsuit during the pageant. In the second, more recent clip, she appears with a visible baby bump while holding a baby car seat.

“From the Miss Universe stage to the third trimester installing a car seat and stroller,” she wrote in the caption.

She also revealed that the public had no idea about her pregnancy at the time of the competition.

“What the world didn’t know: I was 16 weeks pregnant when I competed in a swimsuit and placed in the Top 30. I was carrying a life inside me while living a dream I once thought was impossible. Today I finally feel ready to share this. I am pregnant.”

VandenBerg said she hopes her experience sends a powerful message about motherhood and ambition.

“With the evolving rules of Miss Universe, let this placement be proof that motherhood is not the end of ambition and pregnancy is not a limitation. With a strong community behind you, some dreams can exist at the same time.”

Her revelation has quickly captured attention online, with many praising her for breaking stereotypes and showing that pregnancy does not have to stand in the way of pursuing major life goals.
