Alamara Djabi , the 19-year-old from Guinea who plays for FC Midtjylland, has been stabbed in an attack that has shocked Denmark.
The footballer underwent emergency surgery and was initially placed in an induced coma, but has since woken up and is in stable condition, although her situation still remains serious.
According to the club’s statement, “Alamara Djabi was seriously injured in a knife attack and is now in a stable condition after two operations. He has woken up from an induced coma and is doing well, considering the circumstances.”
FC Midtjylland has announced that it is in close cooperation with the authorities and is offering support to the player and his family, while the motives for the attack remain unknown.
The Devils have had a difficult season due to injuries and have been sidelined for a long period.
He joined the Danish club in 2022, after developing in the Portuguese system, also moving to Benfica and a loan spell at CD Mafra.
The club has stressed that its thoughts are with the player and his family as she continues her recovery under medical care.
