Spanish defender Dani Carvajal has officially said goodbye to Real Madrid after thirteen unforgettable years at the royal club.
Raised in Madrid’s youth system, this born warrior has been synonymous with loyalty to the white shirt throughout his career, with the exception of a one-year stint at German club Bayer Leverkusen.
He just returned from Germany in 2013 for a modest fee of €6.5 million, after which he held complete control over the right-back line for more than a decade.
Although towards the end of his days in Madrid, injuries slowed him down considerably and took him away from his distinctive form, the club’s management set a precedent with its strict policy towards veterans and maintained it until the end.
