Federico Dimarco has officially entered the history of European football, becoming the most productive attacking defender in Europe’s top five leagues over the past two decades.
The Inter Milan star has registered a total of 24 goal contributions during the season, with seven goals and 17 assists, setting a new record for a defender since the 2006/07 season.
With this remarkable achievement, the Italian has surpassed the previous record held by Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo, who had made 23 goal contributions — 10 goals and 13 assists — during the fantastic 2023/24 season.
Dimarco’s performances this season have been crucial for Inter, with the Italian defender showing tremendous influence in the attacking phase and becoming one of the Italian team’s strongest weapons.
In addition to impressive individual statistics, Dimarco has also celebrated two trophies with Inter this season, winning the Serie A championship title and the Coppa Italia.
