Arsenal Want to “Steal” Real Madrid’s Superstar

Arsenal are rumoured to be making a shock summer move for Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The 27-year-old defender has endured a terrible spell in Spain, plagued by injuries and poor form since leaving Liverpool.

The England international never succeeded Dani Carvajal and was not part of the Three Lions’ World Cup squad.

His prospects deteriorated after Real Madrid agreed a deal for Inter right-back Denzel Dumfries under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Former striker Teddy Sheringham believes Mikel Arteta’s champions can revive the right-back’s form.

“If you put Trent in an organised and structured defence with four players, and they work as a unit, that’s what it means to play in a team like Arsenal,” Sheringham initially told Boyle Sports.

“If someone has worked with Trent in this way, trained him to be in the right position at the right time, then I’m sure he can improve in that position to give Arsenal that extra dimension that he brings to a team,” the England legend concluded.

Alexander-Arnold failed to win any trophies during his debut season in Madrid, in contrast to his brilliant career at Liverpool.

Despite transfer rumours, the defender took to Instagram to promise fans he will “bring trophies back” to the Spanish capital next season.
