Barcelona’s ‘Ridiculous’ Offer for Alvarez Revealed after Atletico’s Public Attack

News

Atletico Madrid have launched a public attack on Barcelona after the Catalan giants reportedly submitted a €100m bid to sign Julian Alvarez.

Now, according to Cadena SER, an offer was not made to the anger of Los Rojiblancos, with Barca only sending their proposal after the damning statements.

The Catalan giants are said to have submitted a €100m offer through Alvarez’s agent, but were only willing to pay it in instalments over six years.

Recently, Real Madrid received a similar response from Atletico after their €150 million proposal for Alvarez was subsequently rejected.

Barcelona see it as a planned move by Los Blancos to complicate their pursuit of Alvarez, while also helping Atletico tighten control of the striker.

Atletico Madrid also highlighted that the 26-year-old has a release clause worth 500 million euros in his contract.
