Brazilian football legend and two-time World Cup winner, Cafu, has selected four footballers who, according to him, best represent the greatness and beauty of this sport.
“They are players who have made history, left an extraordinary legacy and have been declared world champions. At the same time, they played with incredible ease. It seemed as if they played the ball without making any effort, they had no difficulty passing opponents, shooting at goal or scoring goals. They were wonderful to watch,” Cafu declared.

The former Brazilian defender singled out Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Pele and Ronaldinho as the best footballers in the art of the game.
“I love the art of football. Maradona is the art of football. Messi is the art of football. Pele is the art of football. Ronaldinho Gaucho is the art of football. When I see players who do something special and make us open our eyes in admiration, that’s what I like,” he said.
Asked what unites these four legendary names, Cafu highlighted their personality and behavior on the field.
“Personality. Not just football, but also character, the way they played and how they entered the field. We never saw Messi, Ronaldinho, Pele or Maradona getting involved in clashes with opponents. We saw them playing football. They would get hit, but they would get up, smile and continue playing. They always looked ahead.”
In the end, Cafu explained how these footballers dominated their opponents.
“And you know how they humiliated their opponents? With dribbling and with goals. This is what we want to see in football,” the Brazilian concluded.
