The 33-year-old returned to Serie A last summer, moving to the Stadio Dall’Ara in a three million euro deal from Shanghai Port.

The Red Devils had an offer of €8m rejected by the Rossoblu last week, but are expected to make a new offer in the coming hours.

Bologna is not ready to sell the former Inter striker, but Arnautovic seems to want to move to Old Trafford.

“It’s not about money, he’s unsellable for what he represents to us. We want to move forward with him because we believe he can do better and help us grow,” Bologna director Marco Di Vaio said on Monday.

“He is always the first in training to encourage others, he is priceless.”
Arnautovic played the full 90 minutes in Bologna’s win over Cittadella in the Coppa Italia last night. His agent has confirmed the interest from the Red Devils.

“It is true that there is an offer from a well-known club,” brother and agent Danijel Arnautovic told Kurier on Sunday.

“I am in contact with Bologna to see if it can be done.”
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is said to be desperate to sign the Austrian striker.

They worked together at Twente when the Dutch coach was Steve McClaren’s assistant. Arnautovic scored 14 goals in 41 appearances in 2008-09 before joining Jose Mourinho’s Inter.
