Barcelona Announces Star Player Will Leave The Club

News

Barcelona are expected to face a hot summer in the transfer window, as club leaders are planning significant changes to the squad under coach Hansi Flick.

Among the names that could leave are goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski’s contract expires at the end of the season and although the Catalan club has offered him a renewal, the new terms include a significant pay cut and a non-guaranteed starting role.

These circumstances seem to have significantly influenced the decision of the attacker, who, according to journalist Guillem Balague, in a report for the BBC, has already decided to leave Barcelona at the end of June.

Despite his 37-year-old age, Lewandowski is believed to still see himself as a worthy starter at the highest levels of European football.

A move to Serie A remains a possible option, with concrete interest from Juventus and Inter.

On the other hand, his departure could be in line with Barcelona’s strategy, taking into account the gradual decline in performance and the player’s physical aspect.

Also, releasing his salary would help the club in balancing its finances and in signing new reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

So far there is no official confirmation about Lewandowski’s future, while Barcelona’s focus remains focused on current sporting objectives, including the race for the La Liga title.
