The 2018 world champion was reacting a day after a video was released on social media in which his older brother Matias Pogba, 32, promised “big revelations” for his 29-year-old brother, who plays for Juventus.

“Matias Pogba’s recent statements on social media are, unfortunately, no surprise. In addition to the threats, they are also an attempt at extortion by an organized gang,” the statement said.

The statement was signed by Matias and Paul’s mother, Yeo Moriba, who is also the Juventus player’s lawyer, as well as the agent, Rafael Pimento.

“Authorities in Italy and France were notified a month ago and will have no further comment regarding the ongoing investigation,” it added.

In a video posted on social media in four languages (French, Italian, English and Spanish), Matias Pogba, who is also a footballer, announced that he will reveal big things about his brother as well as Pimenta.

Paul Pogba’s brother says in the video that “the whole world, including Juventus and the sponsors, deserve to know certain things, to be familiar with the facts and decide if he really deserves their admiration and respect.

According to AFP and their sources, Paul Pogba is being asked for a large sum of money if he wants to avoid the release of allegedly incriminating footage.

Paul Pogba returned to Juventus in the summer transfer window after spending six years at Manchester United.
