Ferdinand Looks Back and Admits: “I Hated Gerrard”

News

Rio Ferdinand has openly admitted that he and Steven Gerrard strongly disliked each other during their time with the England national team.

Ferdinand revealed that the rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool created real tension inside the England squad.

According to him, there was genuine hate between players from rival clubs, which affected chemistry within the so-called “Golden Generation.”

Gerrard had also previously admitted that the squad was full of egos and lacked unity, despite having world-class talent.

Both former players now say they have moved past those issues, but they believe the dressing-room divisions played a major role in England failing to win trophies during that era.
