Inter are considering the possibility of appointing a new coach for next season, according to reports from Foot Mercato .
According to the source from the media outlet in question, the Italian club is ready to replace current coach Cristian Chivu, if they manage to convince their main target, Diego Simeone.
The Atletico Madrid coach remains the absolute priority for the black and blue leaders.
Simeone’s contract with the Spanish club runs until June 30, 2027, making a potential deal quite complicated. However, it is reported that some members of Inter’s management have already made initial contacts to test his willingness to return to Milan.
At the same time, Inter does not rule out the possibility of continuing cooperation with Chivu, being open to renewing his contract.
Recall that Simeone has a past with Inter, where he played from 1997 to 1999, winning the UEFA Cup during his stay at the club.
On the sporting side, Chivu has had a very positive debut season at “San Siro”, with Inter leading Serie A by nine points and very close to the final of the Coppa Italia.
