Neuer Will Go to The World Cup

News

Manuel Neuer is expected to return as the first-choice goalkeeper for the German National Team for the World Cup, while the national team coach has already made the final decision and has also informed the current starting goalkeeper, Oliver Baumann.

According to reports from Sport Bild, Baumann has been informed by Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann that Neuer will be the first choice if his recovery goes smoothly. However, there is still no official confirmation from the federation.

Despite the news, Baumann has reportedly guaranteed the technical staff that he will be ready to travel to the World Cup even in the role of reserve goalkeeper.

However, doubts remain over Neuer’s fitness. The veteran goalkeeper was forced to leave Bayern Munich’s last match against Koln due to a calf problem.

According to reports from Bild , medical checks have not revealed any serious structural damage, but medical staff are continuing to exercise maximum caution.

Neuer could also start in the German Cup final against VfB Stuttgart, but the goalkeeper does not want to take unnecessary risks in training, especially with the World Cup approaching.

Germany’s official list for the tournament is expected to be released on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
