News

Napoli have officially confirmed the final transfer of Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United, after all the conditions of the loan deal with an option to buy have been met.

The Neapolitan club published the official announcement today (Wednesday), announcing that the 23-year-old will continue to be part of the team permanently.

“Napoli announces that the conditions for the definitive acquisition of the sporting rights of Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United have been met,” the club said in a statement.

Napoli also recalled the Danish striker’s contribution during last season.

Hojlund scored on his debut on 13 September in a 3–1 win over Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi and finished the season with 16 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions.

He also played an important role in Napoli’s triumph in the Italian Super Cup, scoring in the semi-final win over Milan.

“Congratulations, Rasmus!”, the club’s message concludes.

According to the agreement, Napoli paid 6 million euros for the striker’s one-year loan last summer, and will now pay another 44 million euros to make his transfer permanent.

For Hojlund, this is his second successful return to Serie A. Before moving to Manchester United in 2023, he had played one season with Atalanta, where he scored 10 goals in 34 matches.

During his three-year spell at Old Trafford, the Dane scored 26 goals in 95 appearances for Manchester United.

Napoli secured the activation of the buyout clause after mathematically qualifying for the Champions League, a target that was achieved before the end of the season.

The Neapolitan club ended the 2025/26 season in second place in Serie A and won the Italian Super Cup, while in the coming days it is expected to officially appoint Massimiliano Allegri as coach, following the departure of Antonio Conte.
