Real Madrid Expected to Part Ways With HUGE Superstar This Summer

News

Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal is expected to leave the club when his contract expires this summer.

The 34-year-old, one of the key figures in Madrid’s first team over the past 13 seasons, is expected to leave the Spanish club as a free agent.

Sources close to Carvajal say he is aware of the club’s decision not to renew his contract.

Carvajal’s future at Real Madrid has been uncertain throughout this season, due to ongoing injury problems and the loss of his status as first-choice right-back, after his place was taken by Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined the club from Liverpool last summer.

A possible transfer to Saudi Arabia or another Middle Eastern country is described by sources with knowledge of the situation as difficult, due to the ongoing tense situation in that region.

Carvajal’s brother-in-law, Joselu, his former Real Madrid teammate, is expected to leave Qatari club Al Gharafa this summer when his contract expires.

Carvajal has also suffered other injuries this season, and has only played the full 90 minutes on two occasions since returning from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, which was performed in December.

Carvajal joined Real Madrid as a 10-year-old in 2002 and has spent 23 seasons at the club, a period interrupted only by the 2012/13 season, when he played for Bayer Leverkusen. He has made 448 appearances for the first team.
