Real Sociedad have won the Copa del Rey trophy after defeating Atletico Madrid on penalties.

However, Atletico Madrid quickly got back into the game thanks to Ademola Lookman, who scored after a rebound (18′).
However, Sociedad regained the lead after Juan Musso conceded a penalty. It was Mikel Oyarzabal who converted from the penalty spot (45+1′).
Atletico was a much better team in the second half, creating several chances through Julian Alvarez and Lookman, but they were unable to finish them.
The hero of “Los Rijoblancos” turned out to be Alvarez who scored a super goal to send the match into extra time (83′).
In the two 15-minute overtime periods, neither team managed to finish the game, so the winners were decided on penalties. Sociedad proved to be the better team from the penalty spot.
