The family of Abdullah Ibhais claims that he is tortured every day in prison.

Human rights organization Fair Square published a letter from the family of Abdullah Ibhais, former media manager at Qatar’s Supreme Committee, accusing FIFA of betraying Ibhais and remaining silent on his case.
Fair Square called on a United Nations task force to intervene in the release of Ibhais, who has been in prison for three years.

His family released a letter he allegedly sent four days ago saying he was “living in complete darkness in solitary confinement after being physically assaulted” as punishment because his information about the conditions of the inhumane conditions in which
migrants live and work, contributed to the recording of the documentary film “Qatar: state or fear?”.

“He is in a two-by-one-meter cell with a hole in the ground that he uses as a toilet, and the temperatures are very cold. “He was previously beaten by the prison guards, and because of the cold, he hardly slept for the last four days,” reads part of the letter.
