Zinedine Zidane REJECTED Real Madrid – Spanish Media Reveals

News

Coach Zinedine Zidane rejected a third return to Real Madrid because he had given his word to the French Federation, at least that’s what “Diario AS” reports.

Zidane has not been in charge of any club since he left “Los Blancos”, who are going through a crisis in terms of sport, being close to suffering their second season without a trophy.

Xabi Alonso was sacked months ago, while Alvaro Arbeloa is expected to follow the same path. President Florentino Perez has already contacted several coaches, among them Zidane.

According to “Diario AS”, Real Madrid have contacted Zidane since December, but the French coach’s response has been negative.

“Real Madrid had direct contact with Zinedine Zidane in December, asking him to replace Xabi Alonso.”

“But it was too late. Zidane informed them that the deal with the French Federation was closed.”

Thus, Zidane is expected to be appointed France coach after the 2026 World Cup, to ultimately replace Didier Deschamps.
