His £130,000 Mercedes GLS SUV collided with a Ford Fiesta, damaging both vehicles.

Witnesses who live in the residential street said the former Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham forward looked “dazed and completely shocked” as he got out of his car.

He then quickly went to check on the condition of the three in the red fiesta and made sure they were all right.

The front wheel of the black Mercedes owned by the soccer player fell off. The side wings and part of the bumper were also broken.

Witnesses said Carol, who was behind the wheel, was breathalyzed by the driver of the Fiesta. But there were no arrests, meaning the crash was not alcohol-related.

Carroll and his friend escaped injury. A male passenger in the Fiesta, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital after complaining of chest pains.

“Luckily there were no casualties.” The Fiesta and the Mercedes collided head-on, then hit another vehicle. It was a crazy accident,” said one of the locals
