The Catalan club has been in incredible debt for several years, which is why Barcelona did not stand out too much in the previous two seasons.

However, since Joan Laporta returned to the presidency, things have changed significantly. Laporta has done a great job financially and managed to bring in some incredible signings this summer.

Barcelona will surely be much stronger and better this season, and at Camp Nou they started thinking about trophies again.

However, in addition to the new sponsors and the various agreements that Laporta reached for the club to make money, it is clear that among the captains of this team, Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets, who have significantly reduced their salaries on several occasions, are the most deserving.

Last year Pique was most responsible for Barcelona being able to sign new players as he took a wage cut for the club to do so, and this summer Laporta asked him for help.

Again, Pique agreed to take a pay cut and defer payments to the future, and so did Busquets. Because of this, Barcelona managed to register new reinforcements and the only one not yet registered is Gilles Cunde.

However, it is clear that Pique and Busquets have not completely given up their money, but we have reached an agreement that it will be paid to them over the next few years.

The Spanish media announced today that Barcelona owes these two players as much as 102 million euros, which is a huge amount of money, but also proof of how much Pique and Busquets love the Catalan club and had no problem delaying these payments.

Barcelona owes Pique 52 million euros, while Busquets owes 50 million euros. Most of the money will be paid to them in the coming year, and the rest in 2024, as agreed.
